PHEW.

I think popping the pills + Vit C works. It really worried me that I would take a month to recover... (like last year)... and then my trip back home would be ruined in a way. So I'm drinking green tea + apple from Twinings and they are so good!

I think this just came to the shelves not long ago. Thank God for green tea!

I hope they bring in Macha ice cream too! *wishful thinking*

Talking about ice cream...

City Gross brought in new Häagen Daz flavors!

I always eat their Baileys and Cookies and Cream interchangeably...

Am left with a quarter tub of cookies and cream now.

But! Now there's MANGO + APRICOT Smoothie flavor!

AHHHHH!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

There's also a strawberry one which I haven't tried...

But this is delicious. gosh. I ate two cups of this last night with my hacking cough.

It's all in the mind i guess, coz my whole body was tingling with happiness...

So I'm bored and decided to play around with this makeover website called Tazz.

It's really great to play with! Super detailed and easy to use. :)

This is the haircut that Ku wants me to sport.

Short with bangs. Sadly I can't do that here, no rebonding so no short hair with bangs.

Ooo see I played it up with smoky eyeshadow and contacts and pale lips!

You can add all these on during the makeover! FUN!

Next look! Long side bangs in brown... not bad, most realistic hairstyle for Sweden.

Gave myself purple contacts and pink lips.

Sorry this hairstyle looks weird, I just plopped it on and didn't adjust.

Tried many similar wavy hairstyles like this but I can't seem to kick it.

Another lipstick!!

I'm super glad I bought this lippie! Mabelline Color sensational in Choco cream 715.

Hurrah hurrah for I've found my perfect nude match!

SEEEE... my lips are completely washed out and matte/creamy looking!

No foundation on my lip or conditioner, just the lipstick!

Here it is if you're interested in buying! :) I've got plumish-brown lips.

Then I added a layer of my YSL's peach passion over it and it became my perfect pink nude lip!

AHHHHH Happiness! I finally come close to those VIVI models who always sport this look!

Toilet light is best light in the house but still can't capture it... hmmm I hope you get the idea.

I'll try to do a video/take better photos if there is ever sunlight in Sweden again.

:) Hope things are all well with everyone! I'm having a great week somehow even with the dreary weather. Been sleeping a lot, getting fat inner thighs (I'm lamely trying to rid of them), and eating lots of pies! Sigh... I did want to come back home look hot and thin and fair, but I doubt that will happen! AHAHAHA! NVM! I'm forever chio! Oh and please don't believe that my photos are 100% accurate, my skin's not that flawless as in the photos, and though I don't re-shape my face/body (unless very bad), all photos posted on this blog are my best angles...

Well :) still, I do think my skin has improved a lot! But only my mum will be able to tell...

Girlfriend, don't be superwoman.

I am blogging at the crack of dawn because of Ku's heavy breathing/light snoring... Usually when I kick him, it stops but tonight this has failed... After kicking, pulling his hair, pinching his face and putting cold feet on his thighs, he's still snoring!!! Argh. Nvm...
So my mind wandered and I've decided to share my thoughts on this subject. That is, girlfriend, don't be superwoman.

Many girlfriends become superwoman to their boyfriends. They pamper them, compromise, understand and seek to be the most understanding gf there is. WHY?!? If you're a girlfriend, be treated like a queen!!!! You know what, I can never understand why these girls will then go on to marry and start complaining that their husbands are so dependent on them... A bit useless... Rather weak... Etc. Hey, wake up call, you made them that way!

Men are strong creatures, inclined towards leadership and challenges. You may think I'm terrible gf material (ok you may be right... But only my exs can say this), but I think I did right to expect queenly treatment. If the guy is seriously liking you... Nothing is too hard for him, men are strong!

E.g. 1. Want to meet up? Pls come to my doorstep and pick me up. What do you mean meet in town? You mean you can't spend that bit of extra bus fare??
2. I'm hungry, but lazy to walk down to buy dinner, bf is solution.
3. Light bulb, computor, door knob, sink spoilt! Bf is solution.
4. Overspent this month! No money to eat! Bf is solution.
5. Go thailand with friends! Spent all the money you had in first 2 days! Bf tranfers $700 to you immediately and asks you to be safe.

Where in the world got such a bf? Have! Look around you, there are many girls with similarly awesome bfs. It's just how you wanna be treated. I know some of you are going to be defensive and say: "I love him, why do I want to make it so hard for him... I should be a blessing to him what..."

Yes yes, I tell you now, there is a time and place for everything. When you are a gf, you get to be queen. When you are a wife, you get to be princess. When you are a mother, you get to be superwoman a.k.a slave!! If you start with the superwoman and think things will go better... Wrong!

Use common sense, when you're a wife, you will have to submit and compromise on everything! When you're a mother, you exist only for your child!
So I say, don't baby your boyfriend! Let him be a man. Don't be the one planning 'our' future... Mad ah? Should be he planning not you! You should only be wondering if you wanna buy the 0'7 or 1 carat diamond! And it should be ALL HIS MONEY! Ok at least 85% his money! What half half! Sigh... You are asking for it gf...

But then again, maybe some girls are created to be superwomen from the start. They are a comfort to the male species... I, thou, will never be one.

Driving in Fall

The time when I really love fall, is when we're driving in the car.

Obvious reason being, I'm out of the cold, yet the beautiful array of autumn colors are around me.

Here I am in the car, but coz the camera lighting was set wrong, it turns out blue.

But you still can see the pink of my YSL rouge shining through.

No eye makeup coz I had to rush back to do the heavy halloween makeup!

So here we go! Driving out of the estate. Love the trees and beautiful sun today!

It's weird that I smile a lot while looking out of the car.

In Singapore, I'll usually be frowning. I would know, coz I do notice myself from the side mirror.

So... good that I'm reducing my frown lines and preventing wrinkles!

Nothing much though... still need to shop around more.

The miraculous thing was... I bought NOTHING for myself! An hour's drive there and nothing for myself?!? And the stuff there are so good. All labels (I like brands!) but I just couldn't bring myself to buy anything. HA! I must say I did feel quite proud of myself... weird? Ku gave me a kiss for that. And then proceeded to let me buy 60 ampoules. HAHAHA..... I tried to save money for him but in the end.... oh well.

November is finally here! I am counting down.

But it's kinda sad coz I won't be buying anything from eBay for this month.

No point?? by the time I wait for it to be shipped here, I'll be leaving for home.

oh yah to my friends ah, pls don't expect me to be coming home with tons of gifts!

Some good, some bad, some real entertaining.

From watching Makeup and skin care tutorials, I've moved out a bit and have come to really enjoy watching these talk videos. They're entertaining, real and many times I do relate to them.

I love this Diva, April, who does loads of hair/wig videos but also does Real Talk, which I am addicted to. Better then Opera! Cos it's short, sweet and real. I find myself nodding to her answers and hearing her views. Show her some love people!

Cute guy that I chanced upon from watching Peter Chao. JumbaFund. He makes all these life/silly videos, but for every view, he earns money and he donates it to charities. I like! So I support. :)

Ok, obviously i didn't go find this guy out myself yah. Benny baby intro-ed him to me. So I stayed up all night watching his videos. And while many are just lame and silly, this one made me laugh till I teared. Cute guy, I hope he gets famous. hahaha!

And seriously, after watching Peter Chao, I have to purge my head from all the vulgarities. That's what I get from watching like 20 of his videos in a row.

Tip: Pile on the eyeshadow after you draw your eyeliner to set it. Used YSL Matt touch as base.

Carrot cake, Uncle Victor style.

Ku made carrot cake! I totally forgot to post this up.

He took a whole afternoon and made two huge pans of carrot cake. (wanna feed an army?)

But it's soooo good! I was beaming. Ate carrot cake for lunch, tea and fried it for dinner.

Here it is more true to color. If you never tasted Uncle Victor's carrot cake, you're missing out!

It's at.... opposite NAFA school, Sunshine Plaza, first level, a dim sum shop.

Uncle Victor makes the best dim sum ever! SLURP. Well, now so does Ku!

Outfit and some makeup

So here's an outfit shot, haven done one of these for a long time now.

Nothing new, nothing sexy. Just piled on layers to keep me warm in this winter-like fall.

I wanted to wear my rocker new boots but figured I would die halfway while walking to town.

So furry Ugg-fakes are the best option. Super warm super comfy. (really don't care about fugly)

And, because I had nothing to do, and was itching to do something interesting.

I joined a mini contest thing on Youtube and did this look!

Hey to get the lip color I actually painted my lips with tons of eyeshadow just to get the right shade ok!! Huge sacrifice. Super fun though... :) Me in grey tee and over the top makeup. HAHA!

Seriously, I can only take photographs of myself with a slight side angle.

If I face full front, my jaw is so squarish! ARGH! Fat face. Depressing.

Now that I've learn quite enough on skin care, i'm moving on to makeup...

But woah, is the world of makeup complicated or what! So many things to take note of and much to experiment with! Fun fun! There's also my hair to learn about, but urgh, I'm not that into it yet... Can't spend my money on both hair & makeup you know!

Today i just felt really ironic. I'm depressed and happy at the same time. okok maybe not depressed but, impatient would be a better word. I can't wait to be back, and yet, while I can't wait to go back home, I also can't bear for time to fly by me so fast! It's already been more than a year in Sweden! Aging so quickly my wrinkles don't even know it's time to come out.

No matter what. I love everything that has come to my life so far. Living it up!

YSL Rouge Volupte

Hello ladies! I just got out of bed, yes really, as in just 10 minutes ago.

The doorbell rang and I got this little parcel and even while opening it I couldn't for the life of me remember what I bought! Turned out it was the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick!

Quite fast shipping! The box was in perfect condition (thumbs up) and it is a beauty!

YSL Rouge Volupte in Peach Passion, No. 13.

Comes with a mirror on the cap for easy application. Smells fruity.

These are my just awoken, swollen bare dry lips (hey I've washed up and brushed already though)

I find that many times when people do swatches, they don't tell/include a pic of how pigmented their lips are, and it's hard to judge if the lipstick will be the same for you. So here's mine!

My lips are more to the plum pigmented side... not too dark, but definitely not pink either.

Here's the first swipe of Peach Passion. Lovely! I love that my lips are finally pinkish!

Here's another swipe over that first layer. It's really peachy pink now.

Compared to the rest of my undone face, it's standing out like .... neon peach. ha!

Texture wise, it's fantastic, super creamy and it's still on my lips after 15 minutes and feels like it isn't there. The smell sort of fades off after a while... Oh, it's tricky to apply the inner corners of your lip, too creamy perhaps. I don't like using a lip liner so I'll just have to be careful about that. :)

I'm truly not a makeup junkie so I'll just have to compare this lipstick with the few that I have.

I have the Chanel rouge allure laque in Dragon, and I'll have to say Chanel wins.

The Chanel laques are equally pigmented and moisturizing as the YSL one.

Their advantage is that it's so easy to apply and they truly last a loooong time on the lips.

Trust me, I wore it in sweltering hot Rome and it's on my lips the whole day, no reapplication.

The reason I'm purchasing the YSL one, is because of the shades they come in!

Chanel Rouge Allure comes in all the red-plum shades. And I want pink and nudes and beige!

hahaha :) oh well, let's see, if by the time I'm at the airport and Chanel has come out with new nude beige shades, you can bet I'll be buying those instead of YSL. :)

With that said, I still love this YSL lippie. It tops my Lancome and Dior ones that I've tried.

I think Mummy would love to try either one of these... Will ask her!

Just as I posted this up, my cousin left a message on fb saying YSL is pulling out their cosmetic outlets from Singapore! Googled it and it's true, in fact, it's all gone by today! Oct 25 was the last day. GOSH! Where are we going to get our YSL fix! argh. I guess I'll just have to buy them at the airport and stock stock stock before I head back after 2 years. gah.

Life Talk: on injecting bliss to your own life.

Today we laughed at how we looked on our wedding day. Funny fuzzy feeling, to watch your wedding video and just cringe or smile at various scenes. I'm flooded with thankfulness and gratefulness once again. Kinda healthy you know, to always be thankful.

When you're thankful, your life is lifted higher. Can't explain it fully. But before I came to church (where I learnt how to be thankful) I always complained about life, about how horrible things were going for me and nothing seemed to work out. The crazy thing is, once I started giving thanks, it's like, my eyes popped open and I saw the other side of all things. I saw that really, everything was working for my good.

So it really may seem that "oh, Sher's born with a silver spoon and has got a good life..." hmmm, well mostly it's coz I'm happy/grateful 99% of the time? So that means, everyone can have a good life too!

And you know what, when you're thankful, feelings like, being unappreciated or insecure and even jealousy doesn't come to your life. It's a shield from these negative feelings that try to come in some time or another?

Oh, and a tip, when we're thankful, it's not enough to just feel it, or think it. I think it works best when we confess it. I always say aloud (at home or in the bath) about what I'm thankful for. *WEIRD I KNOW!* haha. AND! I tell my husband everyday/night about how I'm so glad he's my husband, how he's so good to me... etc etc. *Gross to you but healthy for us!* And he does that back too! It's very... hmmm, good to hear that from your man. It took him a while to start saying, (I wasn't expecting him to say it) so I am still very happy to hear him tell me that he loves me or that I'm cute (oh gross).

If you're a reader of my blog for a long time, you know I'm forever writing posts on being grateful and thankful... so sorry that you've got to read it again! It's just me I guess. :)

Finally, it's not that I made my life great, it's the people in my life that make it so great. From a dad who spoils me to no end, a mummy who takes cares of my every need, sisters who listen to me and lets me bully them, Ku who is now my 'golden spoon', he spoils me crazy and teaches me everything, all my great friends who love me for who I am, a wonderful church that taught me about life & an awesome God who gave me life.

~~ okok! and one more thing! when you're thankful, you'll have 0 enemies! I mean... as in, sure there will be people you'll rather avoid. But it's kinda hard to really HATE someone when you've got so much joy in your heart already. So just start making a list of what you are thankful for already!!!
